While the situation in Lebanon is currently calm and there is no impact on travel, the well-being of our guests is our top priority. 1. WEDDING CEREMONY & RECEPTION

1.1. What should I wear to the wedding?
Lebanese weddings tend to be formal events. Men are typically expected to wear suits or tuxedos, and women are expected to wear cocktail dresses or evening gowns. However, cultural sensitivities are important, so overly revealing clothing is best avoided, especially during the ceremony at a religious venue.

1.2. What language will the ceremony be in?
The ceremony will be conducted primarily in Arabic. However, there will be some parts translated into English for the benefit of international guests.

1.3. Will there be seating at the reception?
Yes, there will be assigned seating for the reception. You will find your name and table number on your place card.

1.4. Are the ceremony and the reception held in the same venue?
Yes, the venue will host all the events of the 13th from the ceremony, to the welcome drinks, the reception all the way to the after party.

1.5. I have a dietary restriction. can i be accommodated?
Of course. The wedding reception will be in the form of a large buffet with options catering to all diets.

1.6. Will there be transportation to and from the wedding venue?
Yes, transportation will be arranged both ways from Beirut downtown to the venue.

2. TRAVEL, SIM, FOOD & ACCOMMODATION

2.1. Where/How can I get a local SIM card with Data?

Yes, we have partnered with a few hotels near the wedding venue that offer special rates for our wedding guests. You can find their names and contact information on the "Hotels" section of the website. All hotels offer flexible cancellation policies.

2.4. What is the best way to get to Lebanon from abroad?
Beirut International Airport (BEY) is the main international airport in Lebanon. You can find several airlines offering flights to Beirut from most major cities worldwide.

2.5. Which airline companies do you recommend?
Middle East Airlines (MEA) is the national Airline company. Other companies like Air France, Aegan Airlines, Luftansa, Turkish Airlines, Tarom Airlines are also recommended.

2.6. Do I need a visa to enter Lebanon?
In order to visit Lebanon, most people will have to get a Lebanon visa. Only Lebanese nationals and citizens of GCC countries are exempt from visa requirements. 
Fortunately, the Lebanon visa is fairly easy to obtain for a large number of people, as it can be obtained on arrival. 
To get a visa on arrival, you need a phone number, proof of accommodation, a return flight ticket, and your passport.

3. Culture & Customs

3.1. What is the currency in Lebanon?
The official currency in Lebanon is the Lebanese Pound (LBP). However, US Dollars (USD) are widely accepted everywhere. Lebanon is a cash economy. Please make sure to always carry cash and preferably US dollars.  You can exchange currency at the airport, banks, or exchange offices.
3.2. What is the tipping culture in Lebanon?
Tipping is not expected in most restaurants, as a service charge is often included in the bill. However, you can leave a small tip if you are happy with the service.
3.3. I don't speak Arabic. Will I be able to get by?
English is widely spoken in tourist areas and by many younger people. French is also a common language.

Traditionally, guests in Lebanon often give money as a wedding gift. However, this is not expected, and any gift you choose to give will be appreciated.

5.1. Is smoking allowed at the wedding?
The wedding takes place in an outdoor venue, smoking is therefore permitted.
5.2. Will there be alcohol served at the reception?
Yes, alcohol will be served at the reception.
5.3. Is the water from taps drinkable?
No, please refrain from drinking tap water and only consume bottled water.
5.4. What's the appropriate dress code for tourists in Lebanon?
